One set for the Power and one set for control usualy using the Cat-5 cable.
Once implemented , they are not easilly changeble as each process of cabling is

The “smart-homes” concept has been around for years and several innovations have developed.Industry leader Clipsal has its "C-bus " system while other players in the industry widely follow the "EIB" system .
There are yet newer technology avaliable now that attempting to make homes “smarter” by just replacing the face-plate of a wall-switch to the new embeded face-plate ( with
RF or IF enabled features )to control all home electronics via a centralized console or remotely turning off the lights at home.

my dream home is a smart-home with following features :-
Has internet/web access capability . Adopting various technologies and protocols such that it can control and monitor most devices in the house remotely.
Features like activiting lights or alarms with motion detectors , and seamlessly integrate devices
such as sound-systems or turning on heater-control just before reaching are just some of the list.
